About GAP
The reasons why GAP came into existence

I have searched the entire web to find a Car Club devoted to the Grand Am, but to no avail.  I decided if I could not find a Car Club, I would start one.  This Web site is the result of my love for my little Grand Am.  The photos on My Photo Page show my affinity for the inexpensive little sport sedans and coupes.  Although I am nowheres near a rich man, I do have a dream of one day, building my little GA into a mean little street car.  The pics I have posted show that the aftermarket is finally starting to realize that the classy Pontiac sedans and coupes are just as nice looking with body mods as their Japanese counterparts!

About body modifications...

Before you jump into ANY body mods, you should take into consideration the budget with which you will be constained with.  Sure you may want to show up those Japanese econoboxes, but are you ready to undertake the responsibility of what you are about to do?  This means considering the facts: 1.  Are you experienced in body alterations?  2.  If not, are you prepared to have your car disassembled for an extended period of time?  3.  Have you taken into consideration the TOTAL costs of your body mods (i.e. paint, fiberglass, rust repair or removal, body kit costs, lighting, etc.)?  4.  Should you have a body shop do the work for you? (i.e. labor costs)  such thing must be taken into consideration before you start stripping your car down.  Also, will it be a daily driver?  If so, lowering the car may have an adverse effect.  Always check your local laws before lowering or altering your car in any way.  Some states have laws against lowered cars or the roads around you may not be in good enough condition for a lowered car to travel on.  Before you choose those sweet-looking 18 inch rims, remember to check you budget.  Am I going to be able to afford to replace a 215/60zr18 tire on my budget?  Tires can be quite expensive for custom sizes, especially for those on a tight budget!
